Volunteering in Buddhist School

Volunteering at our school is a meaningful opportunity to support the education, personal growth, and daily lives of young monk students while experiencing Buddhist culture and community life. Volunteers play an important role in helping students improve their English communication, learning skills, creativity, and confidence through teaching, interactive activities, reading sessions, and cultural exchange. By sharing knowledge, time, and positive energy, volunteers help create a supportive and inspiring learning environment for the children.

The purpose of the volunteer program is not only to support the school but also to encourage cultural understanding, compassion, mindfulness, and community connection. Volunteers can participate in meditation, prayer ceremonies, gardening, school events, and daily activities, allowing them to experience a peaceful and simple way of life. Through this experience, volunteers gain personal growth, valuable memories, and a deeper understanding of Buddhist values while making a positive impact on the lives of students and the school community.

Many of the students at our school come from far remote Himalayan regions where access to education and basic opportunities is very limited. Most students are from economically disadvantaged family backgrounds, and some are orphaned or without proper parental care. The school provides them with education, shelter, guidance, and a safe environment for learning and personal development. By volunteering at our school, volunteers directly support and encourage these children, helping bring hope, confidence, and new opportunities into their lives.

Accommodation and Room facilities

Our school is still growing and developing, so we may not have fully established facilities like larger organizations or institutions. However, the school always tries its best to provide volunteers with basic accommodation, meals, and a safe, peaceful environment during their stay. We kindly ask volunteers for understanding, flexibility, and a simple lifestyle while being part of our school community.

Engagement with monks & Students

Volunteers at the school have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of meaningful, educational, and enjoyable activities throughout their stay. The volunteer experience is not only about supporting classroom learning, but also about becoming part of the school’s peaceful community life and experiencing Buddhist culture, traditions, and daily practices. Through close interaction with students, young monks, teachers, and local community members, volunteers can build strong connections while contributing positively to the school environment.

During their stay, volunteers may take part in meditation and spiritual prayer ceremonies, assist with English teaching, reading sessions, creative learning activities, and cultural exchange with students. They are also encouraged to join activities such as gardening, helping with daily school routines, and participating in school events and celebrations. In their free time, volunteers can explore nearby places, experience local culture, and enjoy the natural beauty of Nepal, making their stay both enriching and memorable.
